On 3 February 2012, the Board of Directors of UBS AG has announced that it has decided to propose Isabelle Romy for election to the Board of Directors of UBS AG at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting of UBS on May 3, 2012. Isabelle Romy is a partner with Niederer Kraft & Frey AG (NKF) since 2003. NKF is honoured that one of its partners is being proposed for such an important position. In order to ensure the independence of all parties involved, Isabelle Romy will resign from the partnership of NKF in the event of her election to the Board of Directors of UBS AG.
On the occasion of the traditional musical prelude to the New Year, Anna Fedorova (pianist) and Iryna Gintova (violinist) inspired 200 guests and Niederer Kraft & Frey partners with their music at the "Zunfthaus zur Meisen" on 12 January 2012. The musicians performed works of Domenico Scarlatti, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt and Peter I. Tschaikowsky. During the buffet lunch in "Porzellanmuseum", a toast was raised to a successful 2012.

As of 1 November 2011, Dr. Hermann Walser, Attorney-at-Law, supports our firm as Of Counsel. Dr. Hermann Walser has been acting as lawyer in the field of social security and pension law since 1969. Besides his activity as a lawyer, Mr. Walser was Director of the Swiss Association of Pension Funds (Schweiz. Verband für privatwirtschaftliche Personalvorsorge/Schweiz. NKF celebrated its 75th anniversary with over 400 guests at a lavish party in the EWZ Unterwerk Selnau. During a cocktail prolongé, we raised a toast to NKF's 75 years existence as a law firm. In addition to Andreas Casutt's and Thomas Sprecher's speeches, the band "Just Jazz" and the comedian "Goegi" provided light-hearted entertainment. The young catering-team around Marco Pfleiderer served culinary delights until late at night. We thank all our guests, who contributed to making this celebration a success.

In context of the 25th anniversary of the Erasmus Programme which will be marked next year under Danish Presidency, the European Commission (EU Commission) selected Dr. Tadas Zukas of Niederer Kraft & Frey as the Erasmus Student Ambassador.
The EU Commission has received 87 proposals from 33 countries. Dr. Zukas was elected to represent his home country Lithuania and, together with other Ambassadors, will be invited to upcoming Erasmus events in 2012. The EU Commission will also produce a brochure featuring all Ambassadors.
Dr. Zukas studied law, worked as a research and teaching assistant and completed various legal internships in Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland and the U.S. He is currently a junior associate in the Commercial Team of Niederer Kraft & Frey.

On 4 April 2011, NKF hosted a client event on corporate governance as part of a series of events which Niederer Kraft & Frey will organize this year to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

To kick off its 75th anniversary year, NKF greeted more than 200 clients at the Zunfthaus zur Meisen for a musical prelude to the new year on January 11, 2011. Teo Gheorghiu, the young pianist, delighted guests with works by Mozart and Chopin in his third NKF concert. Glasses were raised in a toast to the firm's 75th anniversary during the festive buffet lunch that followed at the Porzellanmuseum.

After a 2:0 semi-final win over Homburger on 21 September, 2009, NKF advanced to the ZAM finals 2009. In the final on 28 September, 2009, NKF won over Baer & Karrer's strong team in a thrilling and fair game by 1:0. NKF thereby successfully defended its 2008 title.

Procedures of administrative and judicial assistance may lead to a loss of a bank customer's protection otherwise granted by the Swiss banking secrecy. June 2008: The purpose of this change is to appropriately reflect our business activities which have continuously increased in the past decades and to ensure that these businesses are carried out in a legal form which is appropriate to them. The rendering of legal advice by a company has been allowed by a ground-breaking decision of the committee supervising the lawyers for the Canton of Zurich. Against this background, we are providing our legal services as Niederer Kraft & Frey AG as from 1 June 2008.
29 August 2007: New law on supervision of providers of auditing services enters into force on 1 September 2007. The Swiss Federal Council has decided that the new law on the supervision of providers of auditing services and the related ordinance shall enter into force on 1 September 2007.
August 2007: Since July NKF is supporting Teo Gheorghiu, a young, talented pianist. Gheorghiu won the San Marino International Piano Competition as well as the prize for best interpretation of a romantic piece of music. He also placed first in the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition. In 2005 he starred in the movie "Vitus" along with Bruno Ganz.
On 7 July 2007 NKF won for the 4th time the so-called "Mundialito", a football tournament of 18 Zurich based law firms (András A. Gurovits Kohli, François M. Bianchi).
May 2007: The business magazine BILANZ names Peter Forstmoser, partner at Niederer Kraft & Frey, as the most influential business lawyer in Switzerland. According to the list published by BILANZ, Rolf P. Jetzer and Peter R. Isler, two other partners at NKF, rank among the top ten lawyers in Switzerland. NKF is proud of this outstanding performance. It mirrors Niederer Kraft & Frey's motto "excellence in practice" in serving its clients.
April 2007: On 1 April 2007 amendments to the Swiss Telecommunications Act (FMG) and the Law against Unfair Competition (UWG) entered into force which prohibit spamming and oblige telecommunications service providers to implement technical measures against spamming.
