Health apps are software programs on mobile devices that process health-related data on or for their users. They can be used by every health-conscious person to maintain, improve, or manage the health of an individual or the community.

In our workshop we shall discuss inter alia the following topics:

• How is the software within digital health apps classified in Switzerland?
• Are Health Apps & Platforms considered a “medical device” or a “product” to which liability can attach?
• Must Health Apps & Platforms be certified?
• What are the data protection aspects with Health Apps & Platforms?
• Do provision on data localization apply?
• Future legal developments in Switzerland with regard to Health Apps/software

These Workshops will be limited in size in order to facilitate informal discussions and exchanges. Hence spots will be allocated on a first come – first served basis.
