MVM Partners LLP leads investment round in SkyCell

Niederer Kraft Frey acted as counsel to the private equity investor MVM Partners LLP on a convertible loan financing of SkyCell AG closed on 18 May 2020. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.

SkyCell is a leading manufacturer of data-driven, temperature controlled containers for the pharma industry. The investment is part of a USD 62 million growth funding round of SkyCell. The financing round was led by MVM Partners LLP together with a consortium of family offices and a leading Swiss insurance company. Existing investors, including the Swiss Entrepreneurs Fund and BCGE’s growth fund Capital Transmission SA also participated in the round. The raised funds will be used to expand SkyCell’s global footprint and container fleet, with particular focus on the US and Asia.

MVM has been investing in high growth healthcare businesses since 1997. It has a broad, global, investment remit, including medical technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, diagnostics, life science tools and digital health, supported by investment teams in Boston and London.
